Wine education events & Wine Club in Portland, Maine.
At Wine Wise, I was deeply involved and integral to the development of the company. Some of my contributions included enhancing user interfaces on Wine Wise's website, developing weekly marketing content for social media and newsletters, managing newsletter design, and coordinating weekly marketing meetings.
Wise Wise is also the presenting sponsor and coordinator of Portland Wine Week. During 2023 and 2024, I aided in effectively project-managing Portland Wine Week by overseeing 150+ wine-related events, collaborating with local restaurants, devising social media campaigns, and managing the website and sponsoring benefits. In the fall of 2023, I authored a grant proposal for the Maine Department of Tourism Special Events Grant and secured the $60,000 maximum award for the 2024 festival.
One of the main priorities while enhancing the website concerned the Wine Club webpage. Wine Wise offers a high-quality wine club that caters to local enthusiasts, providing them with top-notch, sommelier-selected wines delivered straight to their doorstep each month. With three distinct membership tiers available, each offering varying wine selections and quantities, clarity was essential. Initially, membership details were presented to customers in a collection of charts, potentially overwhelming and deterring the customer. The goal was to simplify the information, ensuring a clear and concise breakdown of each club and its benefits, while at the same time offering more visual interest and brand awareness to the Wine Club webpage.
The Wine Club boasted several amazing perks, one of them being tasting notes, food pairing suggestions, and chef recipes accompanying each hand-selected wine. This information is conveniently printed on a branded Wine Club tag attached to the wine tote. Rather than navigating through lines on a chart to sort through perks, I designed a user-friendly solution where users could effortlessly discern the perks of each club option while also visually grasping the progression of perks and pricing from left to right. The design was inspired by the Wine Club tags, which both offered more visual interest and further reinforced the Wine Club brand.
